But he was most proud of his spaghetti, and people compliment him every time he makes it, and it took him a lot of practice to perfect the recipe. I go over there. He cooked an entire box of plain noodles in plain, unsalted water. As soon as the time on the box had passed, he dumped it into a strainer and rinsed the noodles off under cold water. He returned the noodles to the pot (which he had sitting on a pot holder on his table), opened a room temperature jar of spaghetti sauce, dumped it on top, then stirred until the noodles were tinted red. Filled a large bowl with the noodles, and handed it to me with a fork and a slice of plain white toast. It was disgusting 🤢 I really don't understand people that have such an inaccurate idea about their talent in a certain task, especially when that person has to eat or use what they cook or make as well.
