this was an interesting watch. From a visual and film-making standpoint, the movie is beautiful. The whole production team is made out of women, which I stan, the sex scenes are delicious, not from the male gaze. And I loved Dallass androgyny and the fact that most of the characters are beautiful, but not in a conventional way. But that's about it, the story was weak, and the acting pretty dull. And as much as the film wants you to empathize with the main girls, they are just not nice people. I hate the way Dallas treats people around her, the women she sleeps with, and her friends. She dumped her ex-girlfriend right after sex and avoided any conversation on the subject by rushing to work. She hooked up with the bartender even if her friend told her she was into her for a long time, and the next morning she ditched her like she was some hooker, but hey at least she gave her money for the taxi ride. And at the club, she is at a party full of queer girls, but she sets her mind on the most likely straight, engaged woman who didn't even want to be there, and pursues her around with an insistence that borders on harassment. And later after they broke up she ditches her friends from the party she hosted to go to some strip club, only to end up drunk at her ex's door. And Jasmine isn't any better, whole cheating aside, she went along with Dallas, showed emotional intimacy, showed interest in getting to know her, asking if she can keep a childhood photo of her...fully knowing she's gonna go back to the fiancee. She was playing her like some experiment, and if the guy wouldn't have caught them, I'm pretty sure she would have kept going behind his back, while also telling Dallas they should stop, because this girl was more confused than the audience. And after she tries to make up with the fiancee, she expects him to act as if nothing happened and gets mad when he doesn't want to kiss her. Yeah, they look cute together, but they are both horrible people. They don't even have redeeming qualities because the film doesn't build up their characters enough, all we know about them is what we see on screen, and besides steamy sex, it gets pretty ugly
