As a trans women who is sorta just getting used to sexism - what you said about being harassed by guys in a nightclub really resonated me. I seem to pass well (I think. Maybe. Probably.) so I get treated like a cis woman sometimes. I don't go out much - but the very few times where I have - I would have experiences with being cat called, and harassed. Recently I've sort of realised that if being catcalled and groped by strangers is something that happens to me - then it means that a man being more forceful towards me isn't an impossibility. I realised if a guy tries to rape me - then figures out that I'm trans - that he could hurt me once finding out. That happening to me is rare - but it isn't impossible, and that scares me. I actually had a bit of a panic about it a few days ago. I don't really vibe with being murdered. The whole subject of not telling a partner that you are trans actually reminded me of this story that I read on tumblr (I think it was a screenshot of a reddit post). This guy went on a date with a girl, and at the end of it the girl came out as transgender to him. He was surprised for a few moments and went silent because he wasn't sure how to respond, and the woman actually said to him Please don't hurt me because she was so scared that he would murder her for being trans. He was accepting of her being a trans woman and they're in a happy relationship. But the story kinda speaks volumes about how scary it feels to come out as trans to a partner in a world where trans people are hurt for being trans. I totally relate to why so many trans women don't tell people that they are trans - it can be dangerous for us. It would be nice if cis people didn't try to make us feel bad for not wanting to tell people. It isn't as simple as a lot of them think it is.
