I am always keeping an eye on Mount Whitney; I tried there August 15 2016 as an overnighter, unfortunately I got mountain sickness and decided to hear advise of other hikers not to climb past outpost camp; spent the night there with headaches and intermittent sleep; temp were in the low 30' but only my hands got cold at times. I climbed down without issues the next day and have been rooting ever since for a time to go back again; when I did it in 2016 I was really overweight for that task around 192 pounds when I suppose to weight 150 tops. I am 5'3 I remember it took me almost 7 hours to reach outpost; I was walking really slow stopping almost constantly to catch my breath and also taking my time; I barely drank water which is why I may have gotten mountain sickness. My starting total pack weight was @ 28 pounds which was not that bad but the extra weight in my belly makes a hell of a difference when climbing. It happens to be that these days it is worst because my weight now is passing the 220 pound mark; even walking straight makes me grasp for air but I still want to summit because I see this hike as a real challenge for me. Sometimes I start to feel that is not going to happens and then come here to watch the newest videos for inspiration and as a propellers; I tell you, I feel like filling the pack and just going; weight will be damm; what if I never do it because it gets worst? Diets do not really work on me as it is at this point some endocrine fuckup thing but my willingness to do it is the same. To go up one needs to be prepared, I was not quite prepared when I tried and I am even less prepared nowadays but if I wait for being prepared maybe it will never happens! So I really enjoyed watching this video; makes me feel confident if I go again I might be as slow as the last time but would try to hydrate better and not to get sick to get to the summit. Thanks!

Lawmen running in is the right response, in contrast to the Uvalde tragedy. Churches also need their own security, despite the present effort to pass a bill outlawing them. More attacks on places of worship & religious events are occurring than are getting through the mass media filters.
