Even though my mom was there, I was still assigned a daily nurse. The best nurse I got during the time I was there was the one who listened to me while I ranted about the things I was thinking about the whole time. I am not talkative unless in the correct environment. Which takes me to another thing. I was allowed to take a bath. I was given a bar of soap, two towels and 45 minutes to bathe. While in the shower she checked in on me. She stood by the door the entire time. I didn't explain much of why I needed to be there. I said what my mom wanted to hear. This also caused me to not gain enough help. Don't do this. If you ever become a patient at a psych ward, talk. Try to find a way to express how you feel. This was my mistake. I'm still struggling.. A lot. But at this moment, I know that I matter. And you matter! You matter a lot. More than you think.
