Union labels reflect these changes. Of note, any Stetson hat made at the original Stetson factory in Philly would not have had any union label inside, pre-1985 or otherwise. Look for the first Woolmark logo (indicating 100% wool) = made after 1964. Use it as a tool in combination with other factors. Labels can tell you the earliest possible date your clothing was manufactured, but not the latest. In the 1910-1930 time period, Filson HQ moved a few times and each time they moved, the tag needed to change as well.
