Amen my brother. What I have learned is that Satan's biggest stronghold is the lie that it is merely a victimless crime. At the moment we are tempted we think that ok if I do this thing I haven't really hurt anyone so I can just repent and be forgiven later and get right back on track with God. And so guys get locked into this seemingly endless perpetual machine of sinning and seeking forgiveness and sinning and seeking forgiveness. We always think, Next time I'll do better, next time I'll be stronger, next time I'll resist. But next time never happens. Something must happen to motivate us to resist when the tempter is knocking at our door. A motivation so powerful that we flee from the very presence of the temptation rather than falling prey to it. What could possibly motivate a normal red blooded young man full of raging hormones to flee the tempter? For me it was the realization it was not a victimless crime. I was first introduced to porn when I was 14 and came to faith in Christ when I was 27. Drug abuse, and drunkeness, and stealing, and lying, etc... all fell away almost immediately. But my addiction to porn would go on to last for many many years. Here's something for the young Christian man who is reading this to contemplate. What keeps you from going out and raping and killing? Obviously that would be a horrible thing for a Christian young man to do. So obviously the knowledge of a victim is a good motivating factor. What about going to a house of prostitution where Satanism is regularly practiced? We would never think of doing such a thing...right? Again we would not want to one- risk being seen going to such a place, and two- support something that was leading people to the pits of hell. The thing that finally motivated me to flee the cybor prostitute's temptation was God's word opening my eyes to the fact that this is exactly what the cybor prostitute does. Proverbs 7:21-27 says that she has slain many strong men. Which should help the average Christian man realize he doesn't have the power to overcome the next time. We nee a power from outside ourselves. That passage goes on to say that her house is the way to hell. Then over in Proverbs 23:26-28 we are warned of God not to even let our eyes observe her ways. Why? For she increases the unfaithful among men. What is God telling us here? He is telling us that the cybor prostitute is intentionally leading men to have a lack of faith in God. In other words...Satanism! Every time a Christian man visits a porn site he is actually aiding in someones eternal demise. That is the ultimate victim! I have not been able to bring myself to look ever since God showed me this. I will confess I have been tempted many times. Like a guy who gave up smoking I have at times jonesed for porn because it was so much a part of me and my habit. But I have not been able to bring myself to do it. Not once... not for a second. As a Christian sure I totally get that God's grace is the same and never leaves me. I know if I stumble He will forgive me. But what I can't get past is the thought of those who never knew that grace, and were kept from it, because of me looking at a little victimless porn. Now when I get some rogue add that happens to pop up and try and entice me, its like a knot that ties up in my gut and a righteous anger toward the enemy who wants to try and use me... a believer... as an instrument to drag someone into the pits of an eternal hell.
