In comparison to other Latin Countries, Costa Rica is pricing itself out of the tourism industry. Some tours are over $100/person. $65 for a meal for 1, crazy! In Colombia, the most expensive meal will run no more than $25/person. To be fair, the exchange rate dictates the cost in dollars.

I’m a Mexican teenage girl, and I have just moved back to America from japan (Kyushu island) a week ago. I attended a private Japanese high school and lived in what is more of a “country” side, and the amount of times I was sexually assaulted literally EVERYWHERE (even in school) because I am a foreigner, no not just that, a WOMAN, is ridiculous. You have random guys (who were usually grown, I am 16, these are men ages 20 and older) hitting on me, asking me out for drinks, trying to get me into bars with them, telling me they like my body, “you have such a beautiful skin color, so exotic”. In school, I was wearing my SCHOOL UNIFORM (I’m completely covered sisters) I would be cat called down the hallway, have boys touch me (without consent), and when I said to stop they would laugh and bother me anyways, and when I approached adults about it they told me “boys are like this in japan, get over it”. You have no idea how much it means to me that you are bringing light to the situation morena, thank you, for giving people like me a voice.
